Rainforest Field Trip

Pooh Bear was so excited to go on her last field trip of 1st Grade.  She got to go to the "rainforest".
It was a fun little day trip that I think everyone really enjoyed.

It just kills me that she is starting to look like such a big girl.  She is growing up way to fast.  Do you think if I put a book (or a couple of books) on her head that will work?

Here she is with her field trip buddy.  Her momma and I lucked out that they were paired together.

Such a cute bunch of girls!

This was the rainforest painting portion of the trip.

They all got to pick a fern leaf and use it to make a painting.

She doesn't look to happy about her picture does she?  I think maybe I just snapped the picture between smiles because she really was happy with the way it turned out.  And she had fun doing it.

Then it was off to story time.  She actually got picked to hold one of the little characters on a stick.  But I did not want to interrupt the story so I kept the pictures to a minimum.  There is nothing worse than a momma on a field trip that takes to many pictures. = )

Once the story was over they got to go and make a rain gauge.  They got to write special notes on the side of it.  She said she wrote something for me but I have yet to see it and the field trip was a couple of weeks ago.  Maybe I should ask her about it.

Hard at work!

 More cute friends!

Finally we were off to lunch.  Mmmmmm....hot dogs roasted over an open flame.

And of course the best part, dessert.  The dessert was this cute little cup of pudding with crushed oreos on top with a flower and gummy worm.  All the girls ended up putting the flowers in their hair.

After lunch She made a cool rain stick.  She hammered nails in this tube, filled it with rice, sealed the ends and covered it with wood pattern paper.  I noticed during this part of the field trip she does not know how to hammer a nail.  But to be honest that is not something I have thought to teach the girls. ; )

Last but not least the Rainforest!

They got to do a scavenger hunt to find all the animals.

And once again a picture with me  to prove I was there.
