Eventful Wednesday...

to say the least.

I had no idea what was head of me when I was woken up at 6AM by my mom on Wednesday morning.  She called to let me know that a pretty nasty looking storm was headed our way.  She told me to turn on the t.v. and watch the news.  Only when I did the satellite signal was out so then I picked up the phone to call her back and the power went out.  I was starting to panic about what was going on.  The last thing mom said was it looks bad.  So I decided to run upstairs and get the girls and at least bring them to our bed.  But by the time I got up there the windows were rattling and I got scared.  I yanked the girls out of the bed and high tailed it to the basement.  The whole time I was yelling at Daddy Bear to get up and come down stairs with us.  Whew...we made it downstairs but uh oh, I forgot the dog.  So I ran back up stairs and grabbed the dog.  But the wind and noise was really bad and I was REALLY afraid.  As soon as it started it was over and we were back up stairs.  We were all okay and it was over, thank you God.  We walked outside to see trees on houses, chimneys off houses, trampolines folded like tacos and laying in the middle of the road and gutters laying in yards, stop signs laying flat to the ground and trees broken and twisted.  A lot of our roads were blocked by trees and there was only one way out of the neighborhood.  I called everyone I knew in the neighborhood to check on them.  Once I knew they were okay I realized the damage.  One of my really close friends lost two BIG trees in her yard and her power was pulled off her house.  Of course the kids stayed home with me and I worried as the weather man told us the worst was still yet to come.  So I called my friend Kelly and told them to come over her and hang out and Daddy Bear and I made a safe place in the basement for us to go.

But little did I know that we would not even see any rain at my house but my home town would be destroyed.  The same Maw Maw that I called earlier in the day to see if they got any bad weather would be going through something so much worse then I could even imagine.  Praise the Lord all of my family was okay with only my Uncle suffering damage to his house but it is still standing.  I have talked with so many friends that have lost it all.  They have lost houses and family members and some have made it through with no damage at all.  And now I pray for all of those affected by the storms.  I pray that God lifts them up in their time of need and hardship.  Because I can only imagine how hard it must be.
