After the cruise we raced home so that we were sure to be back in time to do the girls dress recital. Pooh Bear was feeling much better. But....unfortunately Sugar Bear was starting to feel bad. She held out just long enough to dance.
Here is Pooh Bear she was the first one out. Her dance was Dance of the Flutes - Level A ballet. She did great, she was front and center and she really did look so graceful. I was very proud.
After her ballet dance she did a quick wardrobe change so she could receive her 5 year award. She was very proud, she loves getting trophies. I think I could get her to do just about anything if I gave her a trophy at the end.
After Sisters award it was Sugar Bear's turn. She was so excited and was loving every minute of it. She was up there just a shaking it. She was smiling ear to ear the whole time. Her dance was The Candy Man.
Tap, Tap, Tap
After the dance all the girls went off the stage and came back on carrying the lollipops I made. Each girl went to the microphone and said Hello everyone my name is..... Of course Sugar Bear got up there and yelled in the microphone. Again she LOVED it!
And off she goes!
So the last dance for the Reid family was Pooh Bear's jazz dance. This dance was called Move it Like This - Level A Jazz. She had a really hard time with this dance. It was really fast and the movements were big and fast. I was really worried about how she would do. But by the time the recital came around she was actually doing the dance pretty good.
I think Pooh Bear likes the recitals and dancing but she has decided not to take next year. I am a little worried and I really don't want her to quite but I am going to let her. She is going to cheer and play fall softball. I guess we'll see if she misses it. But Sugar Bear on the other hand she is going to keep going and she is actually going to dance camp in a few weeks.
Here are the girls backstage between dances.
The girls had a pretty big cheering section in the crowd and they were over whelmed with love and gifts after the recital was over.
Mimi, Nana, Paw Paw, Aunt Brandi, Aunt Lisa, Cousin R and Cousin S came to watch the girls. They were SO excited that so many people were there for them.
Remember I told you in the beginning that Sugar Bear "made it" through the recital. Well if you will notice in this picture she is holding her stomach. As soon as the recital was over she said her stomach hurt. And right when we walked in the door to the house she started throwing up. I was still dizzy and feeling pretty bad so we spent the next couple of days in the house trying to get better.
Here is proud Pooh Bear with her 5 year trophy. I was super proud of both my girls. I love watching them dance and perform. I am glad they had a good time and that they were not nervous.
