The 4th of July was a full weekend for us and the girls were pooped.
Here they are resting while we went out on the boat to find the "perfect spot" for Pooh Bear to ski.
I am so proud of my Big Girl. We went out on Saturday to practice skiing with Pooh Bear behind the WaveRunner. She did great. At first we were helping her put her skies on and steadying her in the water. But she was getting to where she was staying up so long that it was getting very tiring for us. So Paw Paw had her try getting the rope, steadying herself and holding her skies all by herself. And she did it! She was doing really good behind the WaveRunner so we decided that she was ready for the boat.
But we ran out of time on Saturday and then Family came up on Sunday so Monday was our next chance to take her out in the boat. We went up river to a smoother spot for her to try. When she first got in the water I think she was nervous and she paniced for just a minute. She started getting upset and she could not get herself straightened out. But Daddy Bear jumped in the water and settled her down. Then he got back in the boat.
And she was ready.
She came out of the water the first time. No Problem.
She stayed up for a really long time.
She even started trying to figure out how to cross the wake. But she was using her arms. I did not know she would try that so quickly so we had not had the lesson on crossing the wake.
She just looks so tiny.
I think she is thinking hard.
There we go a smile. See she really is having a great time.
Oh no here come some waves from the boat passing us.
Oops that was a little to hard. She fell but...
she got right back up and tried again. She stayed in the water all by herself and Paw Paw circled around her and she found the rope, pulled the handle into her, got her skies straight and she was off again.
Aww man here come those pesky waves from the other boats AGAIN..
She hung on a lot longer this time and we thought she was going to make it...
but she just couldn't...
and she fell...
But she did not get upset she just got herself ready again and before we knew it...
She was up and going again.
She was awesome the whole time. She never got mad and she never cried she just kept trying.
And she did great and was amazing.
We were all so proud of her even her little sister. You would have thought Pooh Bear was someone famous as many people were taking her picture. I had my camera, my brother D had his and my mom had hers too. But like I said we were all so proud of her and wanted to catch her first time skiing behind the boat on camera.
Daddy gave her a high five and I gave her a big hug when she got back on the boat. Paw Paw snatched her up at the house and gave her a big Paw Paw sized hug and bragged on her and told her how proud he was of her.
