Christmas Traditions

Things I remember about Christmas and hope to pass down to my girls.

The stocking my mom made for me when I was a baby, I will always have this stocking no matter what. so I made stockings for the girls and I hope theirs will mean as much to them as mine means to me.

Reading the Night Before Christmas on Christmas Eve

Being told that if you don't believe you don't receive

Opening Christmas pajamas every Christmas Eve - So now I give the girls their pajamas on Christmas Eve too.

Getting a Madame Alexander doll on Christmas Day. - I was a little unsure of what to do because I have 20 dolls one for every year I was not married and it ended with the bride doll. So when I went to get Pooh Bear the doll I thought I am going to be covered up with dolls and where am I going to put them. So I came up with a good idea. Instead of the dolls I get the Hallmark Madame Alexander doll Ornaments.

I hope to do these same things with my girls for them to pass down, but I also hope to create new traditions. Like decorating a ginger bread house.

The Girls Christmas Dresses

Santa's Workshop

I was asked to decorate for the Breakfast with Santa at the church. This is what I came up with the kids loved everything. I covered the walls with craft paper and taped and painted all the decorations to the paper. I was able to do a lot of it at home. I really enjoyed doing this for the kids and the church.

This little guy is made out of flower pots.  My mom made these for our house when I was little and I always thought they were so cute.  So I made it for the kids, hoping they would like it as much as I did when I was little.

This was in the hallway and was called reindeer lane.

It was a lot of HARD work but it is for the kids so it is worth it!

Halloween 2008

Every year we carve pumpkins.  We always go to the pumpkin patch and pick them out and then we bring them home and they sit on our front porch until it is time to carve them.  This is one of my favorite things to do.

For Sugar Bear we chose a happy face.

D's pumpkin was so big he did two designs.

 Pooh Bear picked a cat.

D was so proud of his pumpkin.

Fall Festival

Every year our church has a Fall Festival and the girls love it.  We weren't able to stay long because we were headed to the Disney on Ice show.  But in the short time we were there the girls had a great time.

My mom brought D up later and we were able to say hello and
snap a quick picture.

We always have the coolest balloon guy.  He makes some really amazing things.  We stood in a long line waiting on him but it was worth it.
