We are the Mighty Red Sox

Everywhere we go,
people want to know,
who we are, who we are,
so we tell them, so we tell them,
we are the Red Sox's, we are the Red Sox's
the mighty mighty RED SOX's.

Or something like that! Anyway Pooh Bear is officially starting her second year of softball. Today was her clinic. She learned all kinds of stuff from the high school girls. I think with a little work she might actually be a pretty good player this year. We are hoping maybe Coach Brett can whip her into shape!

Here she is waiting for the ball.
I think I may have to talk to her about breathing and not holding her breath.

As you will notice she has got her body in front of the ball. Good Girl!

Then she turned and threw the ball. Jennifer the head coach at the High School, said I need to work on getting her glove up and pulling it into her armpit when she throws.
That is new to us so we will have to work on that this year.

They ended the day with a pep talk from Coach Brett.

And a Big 1-2-3 Go Red Socks!

Father -Daughter Dance

This cute little flower corsage came from Mimi. I forgot to get her a corsage so I had to call mom at the last. I asked her to get me flowers so I could make one but she did even better and got her this beautiful corsage. It is was so neat it tied around the back of her wrist, instead of an elastic band.

I sent a camera with Dougie and Kylie to take pictures. I hope maybe they take some and if they do I will be sure and post them.

Curly Q Number Two...

She was excited about her hair which made me excited. She is not always happy with her hair. She does not give me any problems about her clothes we argue about hair. She was going on a field trip today so that helped.

100 days.... well maybe not...

I can hardly believe it but Pooh Bear has been in Kindergarten for 100 days! They were celebrating today so I made her a special shirt to wear!

So I sent her to school today in this cute little shirt and had her bag full of 100 items to share. But when I got home this afternoon I had an email from her teacher that said oops I goofed the 100th day is actually Thursday. She had put it on the calendar for today but she counted wrong and it is Thursday. So I had the best of intentions but they did not work out like I planned. Oh well, that is the story of my life these days. In the end it is the thought that counts, RIGHT?

Pooh Bear's Christmas Party

I was lucky in Pooh Bear's Class all I had to do was provide the craft.
She had a great time they started out eating snacks......

Then they came to me and I painted their hands and turned it into a Christmas tree then the kids decorated it with sequin ornaments....

After my craft they went to make a card for their Moms and Dads.....

And last but not least they had a book swap. They passed the books to Christmas music and which every one they had when the music stopped is the one they got. Pooh Bear got the Nutcracker. She is out for a whole 14 days too!!

I made their outfits and I finished the shirt the night before they were suppose to wear them. Nothing like waiting until the last minute.

Parent Observation at Dance.....

Tuesday was parent observation day at dance. Pooh Bear did 3 dances to Christmas songs. She did a ballet, jazz and tap dance. I think she did best the ballet dance.

I have to tell you that I got to thinking about it the other day and Pooh Bear has had to learn and remember a lot of stuff over the last couple of months. Since around October she has had to learn about 6 songs for choir at church, 3 poems and 3 or 4 songs for school Thanksgiving program and 3 dances. All that on top of all the stuff she is learning at school. She has learned a ton of sight words and is reading some pretty hard (for a 6 year old) books. I am amazed at the stuff she has learned and remembered.

Another One Gone....

Okay we are now down two teeth. She hung on to this one until the bitter end!!! She would not let me touch it for a long time because she knew it need to come out. But last night I was fussing at her because she said it hurt. I told her if we could just get it out that it would stop hurting. But she was still not buying it! But she made a pinkie promise with her Daddy last night that he could get it out tonight. So before bed time she let him try. He wiggled it some but he did not want to hurt her so he was scared to do it. So finally I told her I was doing it. I got the napkin dried her tooth pushed it forward and it popped. So of course she starts screaming and crying but now the tooth really is hanging. So I pulled one more time and it came out. Whew... I am glad it finally came out. I am not sure I am cut out for this, I know I did not miss my calling to be a dentist.

The Indian

Pooh Bear's class did at cute little skit for us on Friday. They sang some songs and said a few poems. She did a great job!

Cute smile with no front tooth.

She served me and he sister our feast of muffins, popcorn and apple juice.

She ended up eating most of the popcorn.
At the end of every day she just about eats me out of house and home.

Here is the turkey she made with an apple, toothpicks, raisins and an olive.

This is her cute popcorn bag.

Sugar Bear and I went to Pooh Bears school the other day to shop with her at the book fair.

Pooh Bear and friend with their books. She ended up with Skippy Jon Jones In the Dog House and Llama Llama Red Pajama. They are both cute books I had never read before.

Here is Kylie showing off her purchase to the librarian.
She is such a Teacher's Pet just like her momma.

Here is Sugar Bear showing off her find.

Halloween Centers

I volunteered at Pooh Bear's School Friday for her Halloween Centers (not party). I did the craft but I will show you that in another post.

Do you think she was excited? This was the story center.

Snack Center
Also just in case your wondering why she is wearing red, it was red ribbon week. She had to wear red to school that day. I really wanted to put her in her cute Halloween dress but it did not have an ounce of red on it.

All the girls in her class

The Whole Class

After the Centers all the Kindergarten kids got dressed up and walked the halls in front of the WHOLE School (1st - 5th grade).

Thanks to Kelly I got this really cute picture of my little Tinkerbell. Thanks again Kelly I was having trouble holding the video camera and digital camera.

Friend Birthday Party

October 11th

Pooh Bear wanted a Spend the Night party this year for her party. But since most of her little friends can't actually spend the night yet we decided to have a pretend spend the night party. So we did a movie, pajamas, pizza, popcorn and cake at her Paw Paw and MiMi's house. They have a movie room they just finished and it was perfect for her party.

Here is the place setting for the girls.
I did the crazy straw cup, glitter paper as the place mat and tied the fork with a cute bow.

My Brother made this for Pooh Bear it is a paper balloon. I thought it was pretty cool.

I did not do much decorating because the room did not really need it.

I did covers for the backs of the chairs out of felt. I put a pocket on it to hold their take home prize (monogramed pillow case), glow in the dark necklace (they used during the movie) and rice krispy treat.

Here are the girls in the "p.j.'s" I made them.

She is almost to big to hold.

The girls enjoying their cupcakes.

Here is a picture of all the girls. I only let Pooh Bear invite 6 little girls. I did it to keep it small since it was not at my house. I also did it because mimi has enough room for 8 girls. Little did I know they would sit two to a seat. She invited two girls from her class at school, one little girl from her dance class, the two girls we car pool with and a little girl we have been friends with forever! I think the girls had a great time. And I was very thankful it was not a real spend the night party. Because I am pooped! But I will continue to do it for my sweet little girls because I love them more than they will ever know. And they deserve every ounce of effort I have in me!

Daddy Bear declared tonight that there were no more birthday's allowed in our house. That we were staying the same age from now on. If only it really did work that way. = )
